These Terms govern your use of Scantra. By signing up, you agree to them. Plain English version: we provide an AI compliance monitor; you pay (if on a paid plan); we both behave reasonably.
Scantra is operated by Scantra, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN __-_______). References to "Scantra," "we," and "us" in these Terms mean that organization. Payments for paid plans are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by US law; see our Mission page for details.
1. What Scantra provides
Scantra scans URLs you submit, runs them against a library of compliance, accessibility, and trust-signal rules, and shows you the issues found. The service is provided "as is". Scantra is a tool, not legal advice. Findings are informational and do not guarantee regulatory compliance — you remain responsible for your content.
2. Your account
You must be 16 or older to sign up. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for any activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information at signup and to keep it current.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scan sites you do not own or have permission to monitor.
- Use Scantra to scrape, harvest, or spam any third party.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
- Resell or sublicense Scantra without our written permission.
- Violate any applicable law or third-party right.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
4. Billing & subscriptions
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance by Stripe. Prices are listed on the billing page and may be updated with 30 days' notice.
- You can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again, and your data switches to the Free plan's limits.
- Refunds: we do not pro-rate refunds for partial months, but if you believe you were billed incorrectly, email support@scantra.ai within 14 days and we will make it right.
- Failed payments: if a charge fails, we retry per Stripe's normal schedule. Persistent failure (15+ days past due) may result in your account being downgraded to Free.
5. Your content
The URLs you submit and the page content we fetch on your behalf remain yours. We only use it to run scans and store results in your account. We do not use your content to train AI models or sell it to anyone.
6. Our IP
The Scantra software, rule library, and brand are owned by us. Your subscription gives you a non-exclusive, non- transferable right to use the service while your account is active. It does not give you ownership over any of the software or rules.
7. Disclaimers
Scantra is provided WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- All compliance issues will be detected. Our rules cover common cases; novel or jurisdiction-specific risks may not be flagged.
- Suggested fixes are legally adequate for your situation. A human review is always recommended for high-stakes content.
- Scans will complete within a specific time window.
Scantra is not a law firm and findings are not legal advice. Consult a qualified attorney for regulatory questions specific to your business.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to Scantra is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $50, whichever is greater). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms with reasonable notice (immediately for serious violations). On termination, you lose access to the service; data is deleted per the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will email account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Delaware, unless your local consumer-protection law gives you stronger rights.
